What Do I Need to Use this Service?

1) You will need a clear color image of your drivers license or government ID.
2) You will need to enter your social security number (we do not store it).
3) You will need to submit a selfie with you holding the license or government ID above (we verify YOU are the one on the license).
4) You will need a bank account number from which to withdraw or deposit funds.
5) You may need to enter the URL of your Facebook, LinkedIn, or other social network.
6) You will need to enter your address and other personal information.

Why do You Need my SSN, Government ID and Selfie?

This is to prevent fraud. Your SSN is passed directly to our payment partner, Synapsepay, for verifying your identity and for compliance with financial regulations. WE DO NOT STORE IT. We use your government ID and selfie strictly for the purpose of verifying your identity. Your drivers license is used to confirm your identity, your selfie is used to confirm that YOU are providing it and someone else hasn't stolen your ID and is opening an account with it. It's simple as that. Again, we either encrypt the image or delete it in the database, depending on our payment processors needs. We only use this to verify who you are. We have found that using this prevents fraud for you and for us.

I'm hesitant about my bank login..

We completely understand. If you want, you can enter your routing and account information instead for your bank account. A microdeposit will be made to verify that you own the account and have access to it. That being said, we do not store your bank account information, we don't want it. We offer the bank login as a faster way to connect our payment processor with your bank account. Basically, that username and password is sent directly to our payment processor, who then uses it to connect to your bank account. This is immediately deleted by them after use. Rentific does not save this, nor have access to this. If you feel uncomfortable as some do, you can use your bank account routing and account numbers to link where payments come from/go.

Do you store any of this sensitive stuff?

We forward the identification documentation to our payment processor. We may encrypt it or delete it on the Rentific server, depending on what our payment processor requires. Sensitive information is not stored. Your Social Security number is not stored. Images you provide may be stored if our payment processor necessitates, if not they are deleted.

What are MicroDeposits?

Microdeposits are small amounts of money that are put into your bank account. These are used to verify that people own the bank accounts that they are using on Rentific. Two small amounts are put into your account, this may take up to 2 business days to happen. You see what the amounts are and then put them enter them when you log back in. When they match what we put in, you confirm that you own the bank account that you are using. THEY MAY TAKE UP TO TWO BUSINESS DAYS TO APPEAR IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!.

What if the deposits never appear?

Most commonly a mistake was made in entering bank account information. Leaving out a number or using the wrong number are most common. Email us and we can help you check. You cannot use an account on Rentific that you do not own or administer.

Rentific is free? Really?

Yes. Rentific is free for landlords to use for basic rent collection. We add a $3 processing fee to the rent payment that your renter makes to cover processing costs.

I live outside the United States can I use Rentific?

We are sorry but at this time only US residents can use Rentific. Don't worry... we will be expanding very soon!

How much does Rentific cost?

All rent payments are transferred by electronic funds transfer (EFT). Our standard/basic rent-processing service has a small $3 processing fee associated with it.

We do not offer a fast payment processing option as most payments are processed and transferred in 2-4 business days.

How Fast Do Funds Transfer?

Rentific is limited by banking regulations how fast it can transfer funds between accounts. With our normal EFT service, rent payments will be received in a landlord's account between 2-4 business days.

Is Rentific Secure?

Rentific utilizes the most secure technologies. Encryption is employed in all key aspects of the website to ensure that your data is secure and your usage is the safest possible. We also comply with PCI standards, which means that our servers are also physically secured in a security badge protected facility.

Can I stop anytime?

Absolutely! Just go to your Dashboard and click the "STOP" button. This will stop your rent payments instantly. Any prior sent payments may have to be clarified with your bank or credit card. Rentific may be able to assist you in reclaiming any payments that were erroneously sent. This is a benefit of using credit cards!

Can I really pay my rent by SMS Text?

Of Course! Turn on SMS messages (may incur messaging fees) and Rentific will text you reminders your rent is due. Simply respond with a text message stating "pay now" and your rent payment will be processed.

Who sees my information?

Only you see your account information, account numbers, credit card numbers, etc. Your landlord or tenant does not see any of your private information. This is in contrast to mailing a paper check, paper checks have your account information and routing number plainly printed on them. Rentific maintains your discretion.

Is my payment instantly processed?

Your rent payment is sent to your landlord the instant that you click the send button or approve the payment to be sent. Some financial services instiutions require a day or more for the payment to clear their records. When this clears it will be reflected on your balance in their books.

Can I make changes?

Absolutely! Just go to your Dashboard, click the "EDIT" button and make any changes you want!

Can I use my iPhone?

Rentific.com is accessible by iPhone, iPad or Android device. We will have a mobile version of this website available very soon.

Can I use Rentific anywhere?

Rentific is currently only for use in the United States due to financial regulations. We will be expanding into other countries soon!

Is my information saved?

Rentific is housed on a secure server. This means that even if your computer crashes, your information is still safe and secure.

Is this the same as Billpay?

No. Billpay is done through your bank. Rentific is a different, better service that offers you better features and more control over your finances without the self destruction that could occur with Billpay. First, if you aren't in their "system", they end up mailing your landlord a check anyway... and billing you for it with no time savings. Second, Billpay is a robot that blindly sends out your payments. If you don't have enough to cover your bills, it sends payments anyway giving you overdraft fees and headaches. In this case Billpay is a system that benefits your bank, not you the account holder.

If I make a mistake, can I have my money refunded?

Absolutely! Just contact us and we can reverse the charges or debits to your accounts. This is one benefit of ePayments.. they're alot easier and faster to work with than paper checks. Refunds may take a few days to process as your credit card or bank may be slower than Rentific.. but you will be refunded. Any additional concerns will need to be worked out with your Landlord.

How can I change my email and contact information?

You have complete control over your account. Just go into your Dashboard and click on the "My Account Tab". Change anything you want any time you want.

Can I invite a landlord to use Rentific?

Absolutely! You can Invite them in your Dashboard when you setup your rental.

Does my landlord ALSO have to have a Rentific account?

Yes. Both renters and landlords need a working account on Rentific to make electronic rent payments. Both need to have an account for this to work.

How do I invite a new landlord or renter to Rentific?

In your Dashboard, your landlord or renter page allows you to manage your renters. Just click on the "add renter" button and fill out the information. It should take you less than a minute. Alternatively, you can invite a landlord or renter on our website.

What if my landlord doesn't use Rentific?

Not a problem. You can invite them and they can sign up in a few minutes time. They can be accepting your rent payments online in less than 10 minutes.

Can I use this with Commercial Rental Properties?

Yes. Simply set it us as a rental unit in your Dashboard!

How do I invite a new renter to Rentific?

In your Dashboard, your renter page allows you to manage your renters. Just click on the "add renter" button and fill out the information. It should take you less than a minute. Alternatively, you can invite a landlord or renter on our website.

What if my tenant or renter doesn't use Rentific?

Not a problem. You can invite them and they can sign up in a few minutes time. They can be accepting your rent payments online in less than 10 minutes.

Does my tenant/renter ALSO have to have a Rentific account?

Can I invite a Tenant or Renter to use Rentific?

Absolutely! You can Invite them in your Dashboard when you want to connect with them if they are not in our system, or when you setup your rental.

Can I use a credit card to pay my rent with Rentific?

Not anymore. Due to the fees associated with credit cards and the minimal demand we have seen for the service, we have stopped offering credit cards for rent payments for the time being. On a good note, ACH payments which are much more cost effective, will process faster with our new payment processor.
